3D2GM has been QRT now and resulted in 2004 QSO's. I'm on my way back home now and will update the site in the coming days. Thanks for all your efforts to establish a contact and make it into my log.

T2G finally QRT
Thursday, 24 September 2009 21:45
Latest information is that there will be a flight today. I have dismantled the station again and now waiting to go to the airport (just 1 minute walk). This T2G operation ended with 5251 QSO's. See you from 3d2GM later today.
New flight schedule
Thursday, 24 September 2009 13:02
Latest news is that a new plane will come tomorrow. It is midnight now and going to sleep as I need to dismantle and packing the station early morning. Although this day brought some more QSO's, I hope I don't need to set up the station for the 4th time here on Tuvalu.
T2G not QRT
Thursday, 24 September 2009 01:18
I dismanteled the station this morning and packed everything for flying off to Fiji. At the airport we were told there was a delay and later the flight was canceled. I have checked in into the hotel again and have just installed the antenna and station again and this give the opportunity for some more contacts. It is unsure if the next flight will be tomorrow or later. Check this site for the latest updates. Cu.
New location
Wednesday, 23 September 2009 01:39
Yesterday I moved to the Vaiaku Lagi Hotel which is a much better place to stay for the personal conditions. It took however some hours more to move from the guesthouse to the hotel because I was unable to cath one of the very few taxi's on the island.
The R7+ vertical is now just at the edge of the water of the lagoon and seems to work OK. At this moment, less than 24 hours to go as T2G after which I will move for a few days to Fiji again.
Tuvalu - T2G
Friday, 18 September 2009 22:23
After arrival I have installed the R7 antenna in the garden of the guesthouse. However, it is surrounded by trees and incomming signals are very weak but also the reports I get indicate my weak signal. I have now moved thew R7 to the Ocean side of the guesthouse, just at the point where the waves reach during high tide. The 40 meter vertical with elevated radials is now situated in the garden. However, this has not brought much improvement. Incoming signals are still weak and there is little or no response on CQ calls.
On September 22 I will move to an other location where I can place my R7 just at the edge of the lagoon. Thius may bring some improvement for the last two days.
A few more hours as 3D2GM
Wednesday, 16 September 2009 08:43
I was able to operate today as 3D2GM again. Just had a great opening of a few hours to Europe. Great signals. I'm now packing the equipment again for an early flight tomorrow morning to Tuvalu. After Tuvalu I will be operating 3D2GM for another three days.
T30GM QRT now
Tuesday, 15 September 2009 22:57
T30GM is over now and resulted in 5733 QSO's. Conditions were rather different each day and made it also difficult to plan for the next day. Early morning (my sunrise) operations on 40 meters for Europe proofed to be useless. Based on the operating experience I will try to make a more efficient operating/sleeping schedule for Tuvalu.
I'm now on Fiji and and have installed the antenna and will do some operating today till late evening when I have to pack everything again for the early flight tomorrow to Tuvalu.
Power cut
Monday, 14 September 2009 00:25
This morning we had a power cut that lasted from 05-10 hr (17-22Z). Fortunately I made a long run the evening before en decided not to operate early morninng. That proofed later agood decision.
Pile-ups
Saturday, 12 September 2009 08:43
Today I had fantastic ple-ups on 30, 17 and 15 meters with mainly JA and US. I just had a good opening on 20 meters where I was able to work JA's together with Europe. Europe was weak in general but good to copy, Big fun to work weak European signals among very strong JA's. See you again.
40 meters this morning
Thursday, 10 September 2009 19:39
This morning I have called CQ for more than an hour on 40 meters. Only at 17:45Z I started to hear very weak signals but no one came back. Also 30 and 20 meters were dead on this end.
I will not have a 80 meter antenna because of the space around the hotel is too limited and would not result in a good antenna to make many QSO's. I prefer to have the 'extra' 40 meter vertical as that band has been the most productive so far.
